Instant Connectivity and Flexible Positioning

Built for speed and convenience, the MV88 connects directly to the USB-C port on your device and is immediately ready to capture high-quality audio. The microphone can tilt, flip, and rotate up to 90°, allowing you to point it precisely at your sound source. Easily switch between video mode and selfie mode by unplugging and rotating the microphone to face you or your subject. The MV88 provides a secure connection with phone cases up to 2.1mm thick; thicker cases may require a USB-C extension adapter.

Adapt the MV88 to virtually any recording situation with four selectable polar patterns.

  • Adjustable stereo mode lets you control stereo width from 60 to 135° for immersive field recordings or live music.

  • Mono bidirectional captures sound evenly from both sides for two-person interviews.
  • Raw mid-side records both front and side capsules, offering maximum flexibility for music and field recording during postproduction.

Advanced Audio Processing with MOTIV Apps

Fine-tune your sound using powerful processing tools available in the free Shure MOTIV Video, MOTIV Audio, and MOTIV Mix apps. Auto Level Mode automatically adjusts microphone gain in real time to keep audio consistently clear, while the Real-Time Denoiser reduces background noise. Additional controls—including mic gain, compression, high-pass filter, and 5-band EQ—allow for detailed customization, along with five fully adjustable presets for speech, singing, flat, acoustic, and loud sources.
