In 2006, punk-pop's premier cover band, Me First & the Gimme Gimmes, wrangled up lively renditions of their favorite country tunes. On this 12-track collection, the lighthearted supergroup (which includes members of NOFX, Foo Fighters, and Lagwagon) runs through a well-chosen and revved-up set that features tunes by artists ranging from Hank Williams ( "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry") to the Dixie Chicks (the murderous "Goodbye Earl"). Good fun for cowboys and cowgirls wearing all variety of boots--combat, cowboy, or otherwise.
