Technics Open turntables workshop - Behind the scenes!

The weather may have been a bit nippy, but the music was smoking hot in one of the oldest and most famous DJ shops in the world. Rock and Soul DJ Equipment and Records rocked out the night.

In collaboration with Technics and DJ City, Rock and Soul hosted an open turntable, hands-on workshop Wednesday evening. It was a chance to test out the new Technics SL-1200 MK7 and maneuver the updated classic with a heavy reputation in the DJ world.

Though off to a slow start, the turn out was fantastic as new school and old pros came through to dig into the dials and make it twist out bangers. The sleek design may lack the bells and whistles of newly designed turntables, but where the Technics SL-1200 MK7 lacks in minimal looks it makes up for with super smooth rotation and torque performance nearly leading among competitors.

You know how Rock and Soul gets down, a lucky visitor to the workshop walked away with a sweet prize. If there’s an event, there’s a contest and a WINNER. CONGRATULATIONS Taiki on winning a pair of Technics headphones.

If you missed it, be on the lookout for another opportunity in the future. By the way, don’t miss out on Rock and Soul’s 12 Days of Deals; 12 days, 12 chances to snag goodies for you or someone on your gift list.
